The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Walker County in central Alabama…

* Until 730 PM CST.

* At 649 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Oakman, or 8
miles southeast of Carbon Hill, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Jasper, Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Carbon Hill, Parrish, Oakman,
Sipsey, Kansas, Curry, Smith Dam, Rocky Hollow, Beloit, Lynns Park,
Smith Lake, Empire, West Corona, Cedrum Area, Holly Grove and
Powellville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CST for central and
west central Alabama.

building.
