The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
Northeastern Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
Southeastern Greene County in west central Alabama…
Southern Hale County in west central Alabama…
East central Sumter County in west central Alabama…

* Until 1115 AM CST.

* At 1012 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located near York, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Demopolis, Livingston, York, Greensboro, Forkland, Newbern,
Greensboro Municipal Airport, The University Of West Alabama,
Duffys Bend, Bluffport, Arcola, Coatopa, Dug Hill, Tishabee,
Belmont, Demopolis Lock And Dam, Gallion, Lilita, McDowell and
Birdine.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
