The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Central Shelby County in central Alabama…

* Until noon CST.

* At 1119 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Alabaster,
moving northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Helena, Calera, Chelsea, Montevallo,
Childersburg, Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village, Vincent,
Harpersville, Westover, American Village, Oak Mountain State Park,
Vandiver, Maylene, Oak Mountain Amphitheater, Highland Lakes and
Fowler Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 PM CST for central and
east central Alabama.
