Yesterday’s Smithville MS Tornado Captured by Johnny Parker

| February 17, 2023 @ 4:15 pm

Meteorologist and Friend of the Blog Johnny Parker in Smithville MS captured this image of the tornado that struck just west and north of his hometown yesterday on his Go-Pro camera.

The rotation on radar was very impressive for sure.

Initial survey results from the National Weather Service in Memphis say the tornado was an EF0. But it certainly was frightening on radar and in real life. Thankfully it was nothing like its cousin on April 27, 2011 that left little standing in its path.
