The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Northern Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
Southern Hale County in west central Alabama…

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 659 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Jefferson, or
8 miles northwest of Linden, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD…Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Demopolis, Greensboro, Linden, Uniontown, Jefferson, Newbern,
Myrtlewood, Faunsdale, Dayton, Greensboro Municipal Airport, Pin
Hook, Duffys Bend, Arcola, Chickasaw State Park, U.S. 80 and AL 28,
Old Spring Hill, Demopolis Lock And Dam, Gallion, Laneville and
Cedarville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for central,
southwestern and west central Alabama.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
