Alabama at 6:25 p.m.
Showers are few and far between across the north half of Alabama early this evening. Very isolated ones were located on the east side of Tuscaloosa, on the west side of Birmingham and near Springville in St. Clair County.
Other showers over East-Central Alabama were over Clay and North Talladega Counties.
Everything is moving slowly NNE.
Further south, a band of showers extended across Alabama from near Livingston and Demopolis on the west, to near Selma and Montgomery and to SE of Troy. Most of the showers were light, but they were heavier over Barbour County in SE Alabama.
Up in the NE corner of Alabama, there was a strong thunderstorm near Bridgeport in Extreme NE Jackson County. NWS/Huntsville issued a Special Weather Statement (Significant Weather Alert) because of that storm fro strong wind gusts, locally heavy rain and dangerous lightning. It was moving very little.
Bridgeport is about as far as you can go in NE Alabama before crossing into Tennessee on U.S. 72. It is a beautiful part of this great state.
