Storms Slowly Weakening

| April 28, 2023 @ 2:43 am

The lightning activity in the North Alabama storms has decreased in the past hour and the core that was on the Cullman storm has collapsed. Still have occasional lightning in northern Blount County around Snead up to around Arab in Marshall County. Very heavy rain is noted. The threat for hail has ended.

This activity will move across the Albertville area. Expect very heavy rain and winds gusting to 30-40 mph.

Otherwise, very heavy showers continue from New Hope in southern Madison County back to between Eva and Arab. There are others in the Cullman area. And more are to the west of Hartselle and Falkville. Heavy rain is the main threat with some gusty winds.

To the south, we have heavy showers across Coosa, moving into Elmore, and moving out of eastern Lowndes counties. No indications of severe weather from these.

Going to sign off for tonight. Keep your Weatheradio on just in case, but I think we have seen the end of the severe threat for tonight. Good night everyone. At least the 14 or 15 of you who are still up at this hour and on the blog.
