Showers Increasing
Late this morning showers were becoming more numerous over parts of North Alabama, including some heavy ones. The more numerous showers were over Winston County and the western edge of Cullman County.
It was raining heavily over the north and NE arms of Smith Lake, especially in the Arley/Crane Hill area. They were spreading toward the NE toward Cullman, West Point and Vinemont. Not much lightning so far.
Other moderate to heavy showers over NE Alabama extended from Arab northeastward to beyond Scottsboro.
A few new showers were developing over Eastern Greene and West Hale Counties in the west-central part of the state.
GREATER BIRMINGHAM AREA
A string of showers extended from the NE part of the city along I-59 through Trussville and into Western St. Clair County and the east edge of Blount County. An estimated 1/10 of an inch of rain so far in NE Trussville. Springville (on Simmons Mountain) reports 0.23 so far.
