Severe Thunderstorm Watch Canceled for Central Alabama
The NWS in Birmingham has canceled the severe thunderstorm watch for its counties in Central Alabama.
No Alabama counties are under a severe weather watch at this time.
Here is the radar at 1:30 a.m.:
There are still strong storms between Selma and Demopolis. Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for parts of Marengo, Dallas, Perry and Wilcox Counties. The most dangerous part of this storm is approaching Safford in western Dallas County. Large hail is likely as it tracks along the Dallas/Wilcox County line.
The storms near Tallassee in Elmore County are approaching Tuskegee and I-85. They are packing a punch even though they are not severe.
The storms will continue to weaken as they push south of the US-80 Corridor over the next couple of hours. Damaging wind gusts will be possible with the stronger storms, as well as large hail.
