Flash Flood Emergency for Mobile and Baldwin County

Torrential rains continue across coastal Alabama’s Mobile and Baldwin County.

Flash flooding is being reported in Magnolia Springs in Baldwin County. Creeks are out of their banks and into farmland, basements, and yards.

Rainfall amounts are in excess of six inches in places and the heavy rain continues.

…FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR MAGNOLIA SPRINGS…

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southwestern Baldwin County in southwestern Alabama…
Southwestern Mobile County in southwestern Alabama…

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
5 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
2 to 5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring. Flash flooding has been reported with a foot
and a half of water over Highway 98 in and around Magnolia
Springs. Two to three feet of water has been reported over US 90
in Irvington and Theodore. Automated rain gauges have measured
upwards of 4 to 8 inches of rain in the area.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Magnolia Springs. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
