ELSEWHERE:
Strong storms are entering West central Alabama from Mississippi. They cover a large part of central Mississippi from Grenada to Laurel back to Yazoo City. This activity will push eastward into Central alabama over the next few hours, although the WRF model thinks it will weaken as it does. The WRF does develop late afternoon storms over Northwest Alabama that migrate southeastward into Central Alabama. The storms have just enough bulk shear to become strong. Hail and damaging winds are possible. The SPC has a level 1/5 (Marginal) Risk in place. They have said a watch is not likely at this time with these storms.

Otherwise, storms are inconsequential at this time across Alabama.

FIREWORKS:

Besides nature’s fireworks, I think most of tonight’s fireworks displays will be dry when they start around 9 p.m., but it could be a close call for Birmingham with some of the models indicating rainfall in the area around 9 p.m. Fingers crossed.
