The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…
Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 830 PM CDT

* At 804 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Town Creek to 8 miles northeast of Phil
Campbell to 6 miles southeast of Red Bay, moving southeast at 25
mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Russellville, Moulton, Red Bay, Phil Campbell, Town Creek,
Courtland, Belgreen, North Courtland, Hillsboro and Vina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature’s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
