Alabama Weather Update at 8 p.m.

Our broken line of thunderstorms is across South Central Alabama tonight.

It extends from Valley and the Auburn/Opelika area down I-85 to near Milstead and Shorter.

Other storms are over Elmore County around Wetumpka and Millbrook.

Strong storms are over the western part of Montgomery then along US-80 to near Lowndesboro.

Strong storms extend from southern Dallas County into Wilcox County, from Millers Ferry to Pine Hill to Thomasville.

There is one sever thunderstorm warning left. It is for eastern Elmore, northern Macon, southern Tallapoosa, and western Lee County.

Behind the line, moderate rain continues along I-20 from Heflin to Pell City to Leeds and in Tuscaloosa County near and northeast of the city of Tuscaloosa.

A flash flood warning continues for northern Limestone and northern Madison County. Afternoon rain fell over areas that experienced 4-8 inches of rain yesterday.

The severe thunderstorm watch continues for South Central Alabama for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, and Russell, and Tallapoosa counties.
