Thanks to Jake White for these images… he writes:

“James,
I thought you and the blog snow fans would enjoy a few snow pics from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My awesome wife kidnapped me for a 30th birthday vacation and while up there over the new year’s weekend, the Big Man made the mountains white for us! The temperature on the Jeep console read 6 degrees up at 5,120 feet at Newfound Gap. I’m guessing the wind was blowing around 15-20 with higher gusts. No doubt the windchill was sub-zero for sure. The Newfound gap shots were taken Saturday, Jan. 2 just before sunset. Cabin pic was of our cabin at a mere 1,800 feet, road pics and vista views were all taken along Newfound Gap Road, stream pic was taken above Tremont, and the trail pic was taken along the Rainbow Falls trail headed up the Northern slope of Mt. Le Conte. Enjoy!”
