An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

MORE CHANGES AHEAD: Not much change in our overall thinking for the weekend. Tomorrow will be dry and mild. Breezy at times with a mix of sun and clouds and a high in the 60s. Then, the next round of storms moves in here late tomorrow night into Sunday. Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see the 12Z GFS is a littler slower, hinting the main action will come from 2:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Still very little surface based instability, and for now the chance of significant severe weather looks very small. SPC does not have any part of Alabama in a severe weather risk. And, we are still projecting 1 to 2 inches of rain for the event, probably not enough for serious flooding problems.

NEXT WEEK: Sharply colder weather is the story Monday only in the upper 40s with a chilly north wind and a sky that is occasionally cloudy. Looks like we can expect sub-freezing lows both Tuesday and Wednesday morning. The latest GFS shows a strong upper trough later in the week that will bring a round of rain late Thursday and Thursday night, followed by much colder air on Friday. If this run is correct, we might have a hard time getting out of the 30s on Friday, which is in line with the forecast AO (Arctic Oscillation) spike downward at the end of the month.

FEBRUARY COLD? The 12Z operational GFS is back on the idea of much colder air flooding the nation at some point during the first 10 days of February, take a look at the Weather Xtreme video for more details. Winter is far from over.
