Wedge/Clouds Holding On !
Looks like the wedge is holding tough this morning across Central Alabama. Clouds blanket much of Alabama with the exception of a small spot just north of Mobile at 10:30 am. And temperatures have changed little this morning with a steady easterly flow with readings in the 40s.
The warm front was located in the vicinity of Mobile late this morning, but it was not making as much progress northward as I had expected it to. Thus it is highly likely that temperatures will climb only into the lower 50s until that warm front can get here. So for today, be sure to bundle up with at least a jacket if you are heading outside.
Severe weather threat still appears the best to our northwest basically centered on Arkansas as depicted in the SPC Day 1 Outlook. It appears from the morning sounding data that wind and hail are the most likely forms of severe weather with some potential for a squall line. Most likely time for rain still appears to be late running into the overnight hours. The 12Z GFS run appears a tad slower with the overall movement, so we may not see the rain chances diminish until mid to late afternoon on Sunday.
