No problems this morning across Central Alabama. Temperatures are in the lower 40s across the I-20 corridor.

Across the northern third of the state, temperatures are in the 30s. It is 37F at Gadsden.

The NWS Huntsville maintains a winter weather advisory for their counties.

For Cullman, Lawrence, Morgan, Colbert, Lauderdale and Franklin it goes until noon for a little light freezing rain or drizzle that could occur this morning. Any ice accumulation would be on elevated surfaces mainly, but as temperatures will fall back under 32F during the day, resulting in black ice later as well.

For Limestone, Madison, Jackson, Marshall and DeKalb Counties, the advisory goes until 3 p.m. for a little light freezing rain or drizzle that could occur as temperatures through mid-afternoon. Black ice could develop as well in areas where water is left on roads as temperatures fall below 32F.

Temperatures will fall back into the 30s this morning as the low moves away from Alabama. It is near Albany, GA at this hour. Brace yourself for a brisk northerly wind today, cloudy skies and a little drizzle or perhaps a snow flurry or two.

Right now, the radar is pretty clear. Drizzle is widespread, as well as some fog, but the radar doesn’t pick up drizzle very well.

To the west, no significant precipitation, except for some light snow in the Shreveport area.

Light snow continues across the northern half of Middle Tennessee with a wintry mix north of Chattanooga.
