Tornado Warning for Chilton, Dallas, Perry

The rotation has really tightened up on the storm in eastern Perry County.

It is about to cross into extreme northern Dallas County. Then into southwestern Chilton County.

It will pass near AL-22 between Stanton and Valley Grande.

Could eventually move near Chilton and perhaps near Lake Mitchell.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
Southwestern Chilton County in central Alabama…
East central Perry County in central Alabama…
Northeastern Dallas County in south central Alabama…

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 1023 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located near Paul M Grist State Park, or 9 miles
northwest of Valley Grande, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Plantersville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
