But I am afraid it is.

The same low pressure area that is wetting down the state of Alabama will move on up the Atlantic Seaboard and cause all kinds of problems. Here are some examples and please understand that these are not all inclusive:

GATLINBURG AND GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS
MOUNTAIN CITY AND ROAN mOUNTAIN, TENN
Up to 1/10th ice accumulation because of freezing rain and sleet, 2 to 4 inches of snow above about 3,000 foot elevation.

WESTERN CAROLINAS
Rain/snow mix changing to all snow later and changing again Friday to freezing rain and sleet. Significant accumulation of ice and sleet. (Translation, slipping and sliding and tough time driving) 4 to 7 inches of snow and sleet.

INDIANAPOLIS
4 to 8 inches of snow by Saturday morning. Wind gusts to 30 mph Friday will cause blowing and drifting.

WASHINGTON AND BALTIMORE
Winter Storm Warning for Friday, Friday night, Saturday and until 10 pm Saturday night. Up to 18 to 24 inches of snow accumulation beginning at daybreak Friday. Visibility at times less than 1/4 mile in heavy snow.

WESTERN VIRGINIA
Snow beginning around daybreak Friday and the storm total may reach 20 to 28 inches accumulation. Substantial disruptions by Friday afternoon and travel may become nearly impossible by Friday night.

OTHER NOTES
* At some point over the weekend, some places along the Atlantic Seaboard may experience blizzard conditions.
* Lots of other places in the North and Central Plains, the Midwest and into the Northeast also have some serious winter weather problems from now through the weekend.
