Snow Over Northwest Alabama

At 3:55 p.m. our SKYCAM in Hamilton shows a nice snow shower in progress at that location… no accumulation, but the temperature is 31 degrees, so be sure and watch for icy spots on bridges in that part of Alabama in coming hours.

Our Skywatcher in Bear Creek, Alan Hensley, reports light snow and 28 degrees.

From EMA: Heavy Flurries in Tuscumbia, accumulating on Cars and elevated surfaces 28.9 degrees here at the office in Tuscumbia. Just had reports of roads starting to get slick in Cherokee…

This snow will bring a dusting to perhaps 1/4 inch for many locations across Northwest Alabama.

For the I-20 corridor, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Anniston, temperatures are above freezing for now, so any flurries or snow showers should not pose any immediate problems…

The most likely window for flurries or snow showers in the Birmingham metro is 5:00 to 8:00 p.m…
