More Snow Reports

Radar shows that the area of snow flurries and snow showers that moved down into North/Central Alabama have shrunk in aerial coverage, but there continues to be flurries with big flakes over East/Central Alabama from Shelby County over to Clay County and down to Coosa County. The flurries are fewer in number north of Birmingham. However, there are still some around.

Where I live in the NE area of Trussville, it is now 30 degrees and the ground and roofs are white with snow. However, it has practically ended. Only a few tiny flakes still floating down.

If you are driving this evening anywhere in the snow areas, I would be extremely cautious for ice patches, especially on bridges.

Here are some late miscellaneous reports:

* 1/2 inch of snow in Odenville.
* St. Clair Sheriff’s Office reporting a two-car accident with an injury. Do not know if it is ice related.
* Les Smith, Skywatcher for Sylacauga, reports that it is snowing hard. Decks are covered and a dusting is on the ground.
* Judy Freeman, Skywatcher for Center Point, reports light snow still continuing and the snow depth is now 3/4 of an inch.
* Brian Whatley, Skywatcher from Maylene, reports that the snow is disippating, but a nice dusting on the ground.
* In Oneonta, roads were getting icy around the city. On US-231 on Straight Mountain, lots of icy spots. On Highway 1 from Cleveland to Allgood, it is very icy. US-231 from Oneonta to Cleveland is also very icy.
* 3/4 of an inch of snow at Minor.
* Susan Barbr at Clay reports 1/2 inch accumulation on the Clay mountaintop at an elevation of 1,130 feet.
* Snow still coming down pretty good in Talladega and starting to accumulate.
* At 8:30, the snow has diminished in Pinson, but it appears that an inch has accumulated.
