Just a few quick notes from the Weather Center tonight…

*The rain over in Jackson (MS) is now mixed with sleet, and an occasional snow flakes according to reports from local meteorologists.

*The 00Z NAM has come in pretty dry, showing no accumulated precipitation for Birmingham, meaning we won’t need to change our forecast for now.

*The 21Z RPM run actually was a little more aggressive with light snow for the I-20 corridor tomorrow morning, but the 00Z RPM is dry, much like the NAM.

Bottom line is that we will have a chance of sprinkles tonight, followed by flurries tomorrow morning. We see no compelling reason for any significant accumulation around here. But, as we all know, these little systems can bring surprises, so we will continue to monitor radar trends overnight.

*We also note the new 00Z NAM looks relatively dry for the “Bertha” event Friday night. More on that early tomorrow; the next major discussion and Weather Xtreme video should be posted by 6:00.
