Snow Becoming Widespread

| March 2, 2010 @ 7:26 am | 33 Replies

As you can see from the comment section here on the blog, snow is now widespread across North Alabama. Roads are wet, and we don’t expect any major travel issues today with surface temperatures just above freezing. However, we note we have this report of issues up in DeKalb County from Twitter:

“Roads are icy in DeKalb Co. My hubs was 1 of several who slid off the side on 1 of the gaps going into Ft. Payne”

Icy roads should be confined to high elevations of Northeast and East-Central Alabama…

NOTES:

*You can see a live shot of the heavy snow falling in Shelby County from our Storm Chaser 33/40 van…. access the stream from the video box on the left side of the blog

*We love snow pictures… the address is pictures@abc3340.com!

*You can pass along your snow reports here in the comment section of the blog, or if you use Twitter, please use the tag #alwx

*Many folks are reporting 1/2 inch on the ground across Blount, Cullman, and Etowah counties. I think our snow forecast below is in pretty good shape…
