Tropical Storm Nadine Has Formed; No Threat to the US

As of the 4 AM CDT advisory, Nadine is located about 75 miles east of Belize City, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The storm is moving westward at 9 mph and is expected to make landfall along the coast of Belize by late morning or midday. Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect from Belize City northward to Cancun, including Cozumel, as Nadine is forecast to continue moving inland across northern Guatemala and southeastern Mexico tonight.
Some slight strengthening is possible before landfall, but Nadine is expected to weaken once it moves inland later today and dissipate by early Sunday. In addition to strong winds, Nadine is expected to bring widespread rainfall of 4 to 8 inches across northern Belize, northern Guatemala, and southern Mexico, with isolated totals exceeding 12 inches through Tuesday.
