Rafael Weakens to a Remnant Area of Low Pressure

| November 10, 2024 @ 3:07 pm

Rafael has finally lost its tropical storm force winds, with maximum sustained winds now of only 35mph. The turn south towards Mexico has begun, and Rafael should dissipate over the next day or two. Rip currents will remain a concern along the Gulf Coast, with some beaches flying double red flags. This is the last advisory on Rafael from the National Hurricane Center.

Additional tropical formation is not expected over the next 5-7 days, though trends will continue to be monitored as we are still in hurricane season.
