Strong Thunderstorms to Impact Portions of Limestone, Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, & Lawrence Counties

Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact northwestern Limestone, Lauderdale, southeastern Colbert, Franklin, and western Lawrence counties through 8:45 PM CST.

As of 8:01 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles north of St. Florian to near Hackleburg. These storms are moving east at 45 mph.

Wind gusts of up to 40 mph are possible with these storms. Gusty winds may knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Areas likely to be affected include Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Moulton, Rogersville, Phil Campbell, Killen, and Town Creek.

Residents in these areas should stay alert and ensure any loose outdoor items are secured.
