An Early Morning Look At Road Conditions: Black Ice Remains A Concern

Temperatues in many areas have dropped to near or below the freezing mark this morning. With temps expected to drop a few more degrees before sunrise, the concern for black ice continues.

Per the ALDOT site, there remains many roads with icy conditions across central and especially northern Alabama this morning. If you have to travel, please use extra caution and take it slow. A special weather statement remains in effect for all of central Alabama to account for the black ice potential. In addition, the NWS in Huntsville has issued a winter weather advisory for northern Alabama for the same potential of black ice. This is in effect until 10am this morning.
