It was a frigid night last night across central Alabama, and a record low temperature of 9 degrees was set in Birmingham. Here are the details from the Record Event Report issued by NWS:
...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE SET AT BIRMINGHAM... A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 9 DEGREES WAS SET AT BIRMINGHAM TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 10 DEGREES SET IN 1985.
