Special Weather Statement Issued For Patchy Dense Fog in Northeastern Alabama Tonight

| February 1, 2025 @ 12:12 am

The NWS in Huntsville has posted a special weather statement for Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Marshall, Madison, and Morgan counties through early Saturday morning. This is due to patchy areas of dense fog that has begun to develop, and could become more widespread later tonight into the early morning hours. In some areas, visibility may drop to as low as 1/4 mile or less, leading to potentially hazardous travel conditions.

Here are some safety tips from the special weather statement:

"Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibilities
will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the fog. Use low
beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room between you
and other cars."
