Day 3 Of Severe Weather Awareness Week- Preparing For Nighttime Tornadoes

| February 5, 2025 @ 3:12 pm

Night time tornadoes are common in Alabama, and often are more dangerous than those during the daylight hours. Its important to have multiple ways to receive warnings during he night, and that does NOT include tornado sirens. The best is a NOAA weather radio, but we always encourage you to make sure WEA alerts are enabled.

You should also have a pair of shoes, flashlights, and a safe place prepared before heading to bed, so you are ready in the event a tornado warning is issued for your area.

With these tips in mind, you can be safe during nighttime tornadoes!
