Thursday Drought Update: Conditions Continue To Slightly Worsen

| February 6, 2025 @ 10:19 am

The drought has largely remained the same since last week, although some places have seen conditions worsen slightly. For example, the area covered by a level 2 moderate drought has increased from 40.03% to 40.91%. And the area in level 1 abnormally dry conditions has increased from 61.83% to 72.83%.

The good news is that quite a bit of rain is expected over the next 7 days, with rainfall amounts in excess of 2″ over the northern part of the state. This certainly will help with the drought conditions across the state.
