Alabama Drought Monitor Update

| March 6, 2025 @ 10:06 am

The Thursday drought monitor is in, and we are in about the same place we were last week. The area in abnormally dry conditions has increased to a little over 60%, but the moderate drought is about the same. However, this does not take into account the rain we saw late Tuesday night, so it is a bit deceiving.

Some rain is expected over the next 7 days, with generally 1/2-1″ over much of the state according to the days 1-7 QPF forecast from the Weather Prediction Center. This will further reduce the drought conditions, so we will likely see continued improvements with next weeks update.
