Heads Up for Lamar and Pickens Counties

| April 6, 2025 @ 1:14 am

Two rotations over eastern Mississippi and western Alabama have us concerned at this hour.

One is in northeastern Macon County in Mississippi. This circulation will move into northern Pickens County near Staffrd, Ethelsville, and Macedonia.

The other is over southern Lamar County in Alabama north of Millport. It will pass near or north of Belk and move into Fayette County passing north of the town of Fayette.

The Lamar County circulation is currently interacting with a southward moving outflow boundary. It could help it intensify or could extinguish it. Folks in Lamar and Pickens Counties should remain on alert in case warnings are issued.
