Southern Chambers County in east central Alabama... * Until 200 PM CDT. * At 1242 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Camp Hill to near Waverly to Notasulga, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Chambers County Lake, Fredonia, Lakeview, La Fayette, Veasey Creek Park, Denson, Lanett Municipal Airport, Huguley, I 85 Welcome Center At Lanett, Amity Park, Sturkie, Lafayette, Lanett, Oak Bowery, Ridge Grove, Buffalo, West Chambers, and Waverly. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for east central Alabama.
