A bridge on I-35 over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis collapsed about an hour ago.

Cars have plunged off the bridge and some into the water.

There are several injuries.

The disaster occurred at 6:05 p.m. CDT.

Construction was going on and had been all summer according to KARE in Minneapolis.
