Weather Channel Training Trip
Last Monday, as part of the UAH “Gravity Wave Tour”, I had the opportunity to go to The Weather Channel in Atlanta and give a presentation to some of their staff on gravity waves and their impacts on the weather. The tour consists of me traveling around the Southeast, giving similar training talks at National Weather Service offices. So far, I’ve been to 4 (BHM, HSV, JAN, and ATL), and have tentative plans to go to MOB soon. Hopefully, we’ll get into Tennessee and Florida.
I don’t care if you’ve done TV before, seeing The Weather Channel is cool. I was hosted by Dr. Greg Forbes, a super-nice guy, and met a few other people while I was there. As my wife can tell you, I try to get autographs and pictures from everyone famous in meteorology. I will attach a couple of pictures, but the rest are on my UAH website, https://vortex.nsstc.uah.edu/~coleman, under tour. Cantore didn’t arrive until after I left, and Dave Schwartz was off. Oh, well.
