Strong Thunderstorm Moving Into Lamar County

A strong storm currently located near Caledonia, Mississippi, is pushing east into Lamar County, Alabama, with wind gusts up to 50 mph and small hail possible through 12:15 PM CDT.

The storm is moving at 40 mph and may impact communities including Vernon, Sulligent, Millport, Kennedy, and the Lamar County Public Lake area.

In addition to gusty winds and minor hail, torrential rainfall and frequent lightning are occurring. Localized flooding is also possible where heavier downpours persist. Residents should remain indoors, avoid flooded roadways, and stay weather aware in case warnings are issued.
