Band Of Thunderstorms Moving Through Alabama
This Morning is starting off very wet and gloomy for the Northern part of Alabama. We currently have a band of heavy rain showers and thunderstorms making its way through our state. The NWS released a mesoscale discussion early this morning stating that the current main concern is flash flooding. There is already a Flash flood warning in effect for the counties of Colbert, Lauderdale, Limestone, and Lawrence Al. Rain is our biggest concern for this band of storms. You can expect thunder and lightning from the cells in the front of the storm and that’s likely where the rain will be the heaviest and some gusty winds.
Most of Alabama is under a marginal (1/5) risk for this line of storms, meaning this storm won’t be very severe, again just a lot of heavy rain and likely some gusty winds.
