Strong Storms Across North and Central Alabama This Afternoon
Strong thunderstorms are occurring across the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama late this afternoon. There have been three severe thunderstorm warnings so far, for parts of Limestone, Morgan, and Madison counties. One warning right now, for Limestone and Madison counties. A flash flood warning has just been issued for parts of Madison and Limestone counties as well.
No reports of damaging winds so far.
Other storms are over Lawrence and now Marion and Winston counties.
In East Alabama, strong storms are over southwestern Calhoun, Talladega, and Clay counties. Significant weather advisories have been issued for these storms as they move west southwest. These storms have gusted out and are sending outflow boundaries westward toward other boundaries. Intersections of these boundaries could trigger additional storms. But I think the I-20 storms will continue to weaken before reaching Birmingham.
