Danielle is Named
Tropical Depression Six has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Danielle on the 4 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
The storm is still expected to move west northwest and gradually turn to the northwest over the next five days in response to a trough that is forecast to develop over the Central Atlantic.
The eventual track of the hurricane is uncertain, with the GFS continuing to insist that Danielle might threaten the northeastern United States in about ten days. But the general thought is that Danielle will eventually move off to the east without making a U.S. landfall. Still bears watching, however.
