The weather is improving in the Tuscaloosa area where Alabama will tangle with Penn State this evening. Earlier showers cooled the Tuscaloosa Airport temperature to 81–fairly comfortable for the fans in the stadium.

Those heavy showers that moved across the Tuscaloosa area earlier are now well to the east–in fact all the way eastward to East Bibb County and into parts of Shelby County in Central Alabama.

By far the strongest thunderstorms were over NE Alabama in Marshall County headed for Dekalb County.

When those heavy showers crossed SW Jefferson County, they dumped 0.76 of an inch of rain in 20 minutes at Bessemer.

Back to Tuscaloosa. No rain in the 5 pm observation at the airport with 81 degrees. Still can’t rule out some more showers during the game but nothing heavy approaching at this hour.
