The fantastic Fall weather just keeps rolling along for us with another beautiful day on tap after a chilly start. And perhaps there are some positive changes ahead when it comes to rain.

But for the foreseeable future, it looks like very little rain. The cool mornings and warm afternoons will stick with us through Tuesday with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs around the 80-degree mark. Tuesday we will see a trough develop over the eastern half of the country which should deepen enough to drive a front through the area late Tuesday and during the first part of Wednesday. However moisture still appears to be very limited, so I do not expect to see much help with the dry conditions with this system. And this trough is not expected to make a major impact on temperatures as readings continue in the 40s for lows and around 80 for highs.

We stay dry through the weekend, but early next week some significant changes seem to be in the making. A strong trough begins to come out of the Southwest US on Sunday. And this appears to be a trough strong enough to overcome the ‘energizer’ ridge and bring good rain chances to us late Monday and Tuesday. This appears to be about our best shot at some good rains. This does verge into voodoo country, so there is likely to be some changes especially in timing. At least there is some hope at overcoming the extreme dryness that September and much of October has given us.

Tropics are relatively quiet with only that one area in the Southwest Caribbean to watch. It currently shows no signs of development, however, conditions could become more favorable for development as the system drifts north or northwest during the next several days.

Further out into voodoo country shows a dry end to the month of October, but the promise of a change to wet weather around the first of November as a big trough develops over the eastern half of North America.
