Cooler and more stable air has moved as far south as a line from Greensboro to Calera to Anniston. The tornado watch has been cancelled for the Birmingham metro areas, and all other places north of the surface front.

REST OF THE DAY: A tornado watch remains in effect for areas south of a line from Greensboro to Calera and Anniston, and as the daytime heating process continues there could be a few isolated tornadoes in this part of Alabama. Some of the counties that remain under a tornado threat include Perry, Dallas, Chilton, Clay, Randolph, Coosa, Tallapoosa, and Chambers.

Also at this point we notice a strong velocity couplet along U.S. 82 southeast of Maplesville in Chilton County… a tornado warning could be required soon for Chilton…
