Tomas Is Bye-Bye, and Florida Is Still Shivering

| November 7, 2010 @ 5:19 pm | 1 Reply

Midafternoon readings across the Southeast.

MORE RECORD COOL IN FLORIDA:  The Sunshine State was shivering a bit on Sunday again.   Record cool highs for the date included 71F at Key West and 68F at Melbourne.  This morning, the low was 53F at Miami International and 55F at Miami Beach, both cold enough to be new records for the date.

TOMAS:  Tomas was written off the books this afternoon as it lost tropical characteristics.

SEASON WINDING DOWN:  The long Atlantic Hurricane Season is beginning to wind down.  The GFS is not bullish on any additional tropical cyclone development occurring over the next 15 days, so we might be getting close to closing the books on this active season.
