Thanks to ABC 33/40 Skywatcher Kristie Calvin for these images… she writes:

“Hi James:

I hope you are doing well! I wish I had been able to attend the Weather Extreme event. I’m sure that it was great!!! Here in North Pole, we had several inches of snow over the weekend. The snow started on Friday evening and just ended this morning. We had a total of almost 5 inches of snow. It seems like we should have had much more than five inches. However, the snow here falls in very tiny flakes and is very dry. In fact, we don’t even have to shovel. It is so dry that we just take a broom and sweep it off our walkway.

With the snow moving out, the NWS has predicted a strong cold front to move through today from the Northwest. Temperatures have been remaining steady at 13 degrees all day. The forecast is for falling temperatures this afternoon into the overnight hours. Our lows tonight should be around 15 below zero and our highs for Tuesday will not warm up. They are predicting a high of 15 below! Tuesday night gets even colder with a low of 30 below zero. Wednesday should warm up to 5 below zero with a chance of snow.

Hopefully, this cold snap will not last too long and we will be back above zero before too long. I will keep you posted on the cold and try to send some down your way. Take care and God bless!”
