**No Weather Xtreme video this afternoon… but you can see the morning video in the player on the right**

WEEKEND WEATHER CHANGES: We rise into the mid 60s tomorrow, but don’t get used to it. A clipper type system will bring clouds into the state tomorrow, along with some risk of isolated afternoon and evening showers. The air remains dry, and most places won’t see enough rain to measure. In the wake of that feature, the weather turns sharply colder Sunday with a high only in the mid 40s along with a very chilly northwest wind.

ARCTIC COLD NEXT WEEK: The 12Z GFS has come in colder for next week, and it will clearly be the coldest air so far this season. The high Monday and Tuesday will be around 40 degrees, and many communities north of Birmingham won’t get out of the 30s. We are now looking at low 20s Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning, and it is likely that the valleys and colder spots will reach the teens easily, especially early Tuesday and Wednesday. Be prepared for a hard freeze on at least three mornings next week. A slow moderating trend begins Thursday.

LONG RANGE/VOODOO LAND: The 12Z operational GFS keeps relatively cold air in place through December 15 with very few opportunities for any precipitation. Then, a noticeable warming trend begins in the December 15-20 time frame, with the Arctic air retreating to the north. A warm Christmas? We will see… this is all voodoo, you know…

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
