The national weather community will be coming to Birmingham October 15-20, 2011 as the National Weather Association brings its Annual Meeting to Birmingham and the Wynfrey Hotel.

The program committee will be really active over the next month, finalizing the theme for the meeting, making final additions to the team, raising local money to enhance the experience for our colleagues from around the country during their visit and making the call for abstracts.

Here’s your chance to play a part. Please submit your best weather related photo of a Birmingham or Central Alabama landmark (downtown Skyline, Vulcan, Civil Rights Institute, Sloss, etc.) Highlight the best and worst of Central Alabama’s weather: tornadoes, blizzards, lightning, flooding, fall colors, etc. Example: there were some beautiful photos of the sunset during the Iron Bowl Game this year…send any of those.

We will use these to create the cover of the program and slides displayed between presenters.

If we use them, you will receive credit on the NWA2011 website and in the annual program. By submitting them, you are giving us permission to use them. Please make sure they are photos that you took yourself!

Merry Christmas!

Send your best to bill.murray@theweathercompany.com.
