Based on lightning detection equipment, the most powerful thunderstorms are clustered over West Central Mississippi, west and Southwest of Jackson. Moving rapidly NNE or NE. These storms are dumping an estimated 1.50 inches of rain per hour.

4 PM dew points were mostly in the 50s across Alabama which helps us–meaning the atmosphere is a big more stable. Mississippi dew points are well into the 60s. Warm moist air continues to surge north from the Gulf of Mexico so our dew points will be on the rise.

SIX FATALITIES
Now confirmed six people killed today by tornadoes in Arkansas and Missouri.
