Our annual severe weather awareness tour across Alabama, Storm Alert 2011, kicks off tomorrow night in St. Clair County. We will be at Springville Middle School… doors open at 5:00, and the show begins at 6:45. Come early and you can watch me do the weather live on ABC 33/40 on the early newscasts.

This is the 13th annual tour…. Over the years, we’ve traveled Central Alabama with one goal in mind: to prepare you and your family for the spring severe weather season.

The 2011 Storm Alert tour will feature family-friendly activities and information, including your personal responsibility during times of severe weather, how and why watches and warnings are issued, and “Dixie Alley”: Is it a myth or reality?

As usual, door prizes will be given away at the end of the show. The first 400 adults to enter the show will receive an ABC 33/40 water bottle and other items, and the first 250 children in the door will receive a severe weather safety activity book and crayons.

So… come meet the ABC 33/40 Weather Team and have a little fun. See you tomorrow night in Springville… here are the other stops this year:

February 10
McAdory High School Auditorium

February 17
Gordo High School Gymnasium

February 24
