Winter Storm Watches Issued

Most of Central and North Alabama (as well as northern and central Mississippi) are under a Winter Storm Watch Wednesday night through Thursday morning. A light snow event is expected to blanket much of the northern half of our state with 1-3 inches of snow on average; some higher accumulations are possible near and north of US 278 as well as the higher elevations of eastern Alabama.

Here’s my snowfall chart that I’m using this morning on Good Morning Alabama. It’s within the margin of error of being exactly like James’ map. The idea is the same, but we just draw a little differently. Minor details cannot really be resolved between the two maps, so for all planning purposes they are the same:
